A proposal to shorten the longest summer vacation among the Nordic countries has been submitted in Iceland by the center-right Viðreisn (Reform Party). The motion, brought forward by party member Erlingur Sigvaldason on the Reykjavík City Council, argues that the approximately 76-day break leads to social isolation for children, economic strain on families, and disruption to educational routines.
